• Please be advised that new SmartMoto requires registration
  When you run the software for the first time it will ask for registration. You be will be offered a link, follow it and you will receive the key needed to activate the program. Copy the key and paste it into a registration window in SmartMoto software. No more registration is needed.
• The following option is recommended on Windows 2000/XP to improve communication stability: Disable OS parallel port polling (requires reboot)

Unlock procedure for V1050 and V975 (ver R245_xxx):

• You need to use SmartMoto to unlock these models
  Power on the phone.
• Connect it to PC via smart-clip, detect your phone in SmartMoto.
  Go to Unlock bookmark, pick your model, press "Start unlock procedure" button.
• Phone goes into boot mode, reserve copy of security area is created.
• Part of phone Firmware is reflashed.
  Phone doesn't power on after that. SmartMoto will give you the message requiring to take phone into boot mode using keys combination: *,#, PWR ON (at this moment the phone has to be connected by usb cable) or using repair cable.
• Press "OK" button. Wait till the process ends.
  The phone powers on and is ready to be unlocked by Smart-Clip using simple "press one button" method (press Unlock button on Smart-Clip).

Unlock procedure for E378i:

• Power on the phone, connect it to Smart-Clip, press Unlock button.
• Phone goes into boot mode.
• E/G starts blinking.
• Power the phone ON manually within 2-3 seconds after display turns off.
• Wait for unlock procedure to complete.
• Alternatively you can try to unlock this phone with battery charger on.

SmartMoto

·  Backup Full Flash

• The function is implemented for fully safe SmartMoto tool operation with Your Motorola phones. With the backup files you upload our team continuously replenishes flash files database

·  Restore full flash

• You can always restore your phone to initial state using this function and previously made backup file.
  Note: backup files are created only for the clip that they were made with.
  You can't use "restore" feature with the backup file made by any other clip

·  Auto backup/restore security area

• For those models where security area does not restore it will be autosaved while entering boot mode. If needed this zone can be restored with restore security area function.

·  Read phone info
You can get full information on your phone, namely:

• Simple phone flashing

·  Repair flashing

• Full phone flashing (including EEPROM zones) by a working flash file. Repair flash files are prepared by Smart-Clip developers team and put out for Smart-Clip users on our server. In phones with unrestorable security area it will not be changed during flashing

·  PC flash

• Emulation of PST flasher. It works via computer USB port and does not require phone connection via Smart-Clip. Flashing requires standard PST files with *.shx extension.

S-Card dongle is a portable USB key for:

• Smart-Clip updates.
• SmartMoto software operations.
• Access to flash files database.

Use of S-Card dongle frees Smart-Clip users from SmartMoto licensing process. From now on, Smart-Clip with S-Card dongle can be used on any PC and will not be bound to the computer hardware.

NOTE:
No future version of Smart-Clip or SmartMoto will be usable without S-Card dongle connected. Smart-Clip registered with the USB key will provide an access to the new level of flash files database at portal boot loader. New flash file formats will be supported by SmartMoto, also direct flashing with original flash files will be allowed (TestPoint connection method is not necessary for flashing anymore).
